James "Charlie" Edwards has been a nurse for 33 years and has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including intensive care, MedSurg, oncology, ambulatory, and nursing professional development. Currently, he is the market director of nursing professional development and clinical education at a Level I trauma center/comprehensive stroke center.
Edwards earned his associate's degree of nursing from Southern Arkansas University in 1991, a BSN from University of Phoenix in 2012, and an MSN in nursing education from Western Governors University in 2016. He is passionate about bettering oneself through education and being certified in one's area of specialty.

Shelby Hall earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing education from Western Governors University. She is certified as an academic clinical nurse educator with over 10 years of experience in pediatric critical care and nursing education. Hall oversees nursing workforce development pipeline programs for a large regional academic health system in Louisville, Kentucky.
Joy Kiat-Floro, MBA, MSN, RN, NPD-BC
Educator of Professional Practice, Sidra Medicine
Joy Kiat-Floro is a nurse leader with over 29 years of experience in critical care, leadership, clinical instruction design, and academia across healthcare and academic organizations in Qatar and the United States. She is a senior educator for education and professional practice in Sidra Medicine, where she is responsible for the professional development of nursing and allied health staff. She also co-leads the Sidra Medicine Sepsis program, and is the clinical lead for eLearning instructional design and build.
Ms. Kiat-Floro received an MBA in healthcare management and an MSN from the University of Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently pursuing her DNP in educational leadership at Post University.
Ms. Kiat-Floro is a contributing author for the 2022 fourth edition of Nursing Professional Development: Scope & Standards of Practice and actively serves on committees for the Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD).

Mary Smith is ANPD’s NPD education program manager. Leveraging 25 years of experience as a registered nurse and a graduate education in nursing, Mary is committed to serving the needs of the ANPD community. Mary is a published author and a national nursing publication peer reviewer, fostering the support of continued professional development and growth of nurses. She has experience spanning inpatient and outpatient work in obstetrical nursing, regulatory and nursing leadership, and as a nurse coach, which have provided a broad foundation for her continued work in nursing professional development with ANPD.
