Artificial intelligence (AI) and other innovative technologies are supporting the educational goals of nursing professional development (NPD) practitioners across roles. In this episode of the NPD Forecast podcast, Laura Irvin, MHL, BSN, RN, winner of the ANPD Aspire Convention Star Search competition, explains her belief that AI, specifically large language models, can help NPDs alleviate burnout. Allison Turner, RN, BSN, CCRC, NPD-BC, winner of the ANPD Aspire Convention people's choice poster presentation, shares her team's process for incorporating a new app for inpatient use that allows patients to see their medications and schedule.
Join hosts Stephanie Zidek, PhD, RN, AGCNS-BC, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, and Naomi Fox, DNP, RN, NPD-BC, CCRN, for a discussion of new technologies, including:
- How both guests incorporated the NPD standards into their implementation and approach.
- The outcomes of Allison's education approach, which include a high utilization rate and great feedback from patients.
- Laura's considerations as she plans her AI session for next year's convention — how will AI be more developed a year from now?
